DEFENSE OF ČSSR IN 1968 FROM US AGGRESSION

The United States provoked the Caribbean crisis and the arrival of Warsaw Pact troops in ČSSR in 1968 to defend its citizens

In recent days – for about two months now, a hysterical hate campaign has been running in the media about the arrival of Warsaw Pact troops in Czechoslovakia in 1968. The impression is being created that it was the Russian troops that arrived, thereby forcing society to be angry with the Russian Federation.

First of all, it must be said that these were the troops of the Ukrainian tank battalion, but also the Polish, Hungarian, Bulgarian and Soviet Union.

  • Why are these facts and facts not written about in newspapers, as well as in textbooks?

  • Why are facts distorted and taken out of context of true events and contexts?

  • Why is the U.S. Embassy suddenly organizing a caravan tour of 24 Slovak cities with American diplomats?

  • Why are American convoys with sharp weapons walking on the territory of Slovakia and 50 exercises organized with them this year alone?

  • Who feeds the myths of 1968 and why?

  • Why do they want to impose and explain to the citizens of Slovakia our common commitment to freedom and democracy, but also that the partisans, together with the Americans, won the Slovak National Uprising?

  • Or do these facts not suit the West and the American arms industry, which defends the truth?

  • Because the US and NATO are to blame for the invasion of Czechoslovakia?

  • Because they are afraid that people will condemn the West and warmongers from the United States and NATO when the truth comes out?

Let's look at the context from the sixties from a military and geopolitical point of view. For decades, Anglo-American governments denigrated, humiliated, demonized Russia and the Slavs. One of their themes to sow hatred and animosity between Slavic countries is the arrival of Warsaw Pact troops in Czechoslovakia in 1968.

  • What is the truth and reality?

  • Who created the situation for the Warsaw Pact troops to arrive in 1968?

  • Who sent them there and why for so long?

Let us clarify all the true connections. After World War 2 in 1945, a peace treaty was signed between the defeated powers – Germany, Italy, Japan and the victorious powers – Russia, the United States, England and others.

  • One of the points is that the victorious powers will not arm the defeated powers with any weapons, nor will they otherwise support military industries.

  • To circumvent this treaty, on April 4, 1949, they established a NATO military pact, which has the main political and military structures to control the member countries.

    • Its founders were the United States, England, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Iceland, Norway, Portugal. Except for Germany, Greece and Turkey.

    • On 18.2.1952 they received Greece and Turkey. There they delivered missiles with Atomic Warheads Pelikán.

    • And finally, on 9.5.1955, they also adopted Germany.

  • As a counterweight to this direct military threat, socialist countries established a defense pact – the Warsaw Pact – on 14.5.1955, after Germany's accession to NATO. Their founders were the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, the German Democratic Republic and Albania.

After the Caribbean crisis, the UNITED STATES had to withdraw PGM 19 Jupiter missiles with atomic warheads from Turkey, directed against the Warsaw Pact countries and the USSR. We must not forget that in Western countries there were a huge number of weapons of NATO member countries, to which were added additional supplies of weapons from the USA. The UNITED STATES, without the approval of the UN Security Committee, gradually delivered in the sixties more than 2500 tanks, 1500 aircraft and bombers, 80000 soldiers, and, most dangerously, 171 missiles with atomic warheads aimed at Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, etc..

The US did not have to save on nuclear weapons, because in 1959 it had more than 12 thousand. Two years later, already 22229. Later, their number, even on the basis of agreements resulting from the increasing military power of the Warsaw Pact, decreased significantly. This is also thanks to the arrival of Warsaw Pact troops in Czechoslovakia. This means that armaments and the unleashing of World War 3 were prevented. An exact list of the impacts of atomic warheads and the extermination of the Slavs is available.

The Americans established other American and NATO bases in West Germany, but also in other Western countries. In Italy, England, Turkey and elsewhere. Lists are available. These facts give us a clear answer as to why the Warsaw Pact command decided to deliver these numbers of soldiers and weapons to Czechoslovakia. The numbers of troops ready for defense, marked as Operation Danube, were allocated by the Warsaw Pact troops with a force of 27 divisions.

  • 12 tank and 13 motto-gun,

  • two paratroopers,

  • and one air army with a total strength of 200000–750000 soldiers with 800 aircraft, 2000–6300 tanks and 2000 cannons and rocket launchers.

These forces as a whole exceeded the Czechoslovak People's Army in number. The forces of the Eastern Military District of the ČSLA were not in full numbers at the time of arrival. About 28000 Polish and about 30000 Hungarian soldiers took part in the operation. The participation of East German troops is controversial. Even the latest sources confirm that these troops did not receive permission to set off from their starting positions across the border. On Slovak territory alone, in the early days, 48055 Soviet, 10372 Hungarian and about 1000 Bulgarian soldiers were deployed.

In connection with the fact of the increase in weapons and soldiers in Germany on the border with Czechoslovakia, it turns out that this was a direct military threat to socialist countries and sovereign Warsaw Pact states. Therefore, the Warsaw Pact command assessed this as a direct threat of invading the Warsaw Pact countries, decided to balance the military forces and deliver the same amount of military equipment to Czechoslovakia as the UNITED STATES to Germany and NATO countries.

Had it not been for the lightning-fast arrival of Allied troops in what was then Czechoslovakia, nato armies would have occupied the centre of Europe. The world is said to have found itself on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe fifty years ago. It was only quelled by a thoroughly prepared, well-concealed and perfectly executed operation under the code name Danube. This forced NATO and the US to reduce the number of nuclear warheads directed against the Warsaw Pact countries.

This was the real reason why the Warsaw Pact troops came to Czechoslovakia. To protect women, children, old people and entire peoples of the Slavs from extermination.

Military deployment

In April 1958 The U.S. Department of Defense has tasked the United States Air Force with preparing to deploy the first three squadrons of Jupiter missiles (45 missiles) in France. Negotiations between the United States and France lasted until June 1958, and Charles de Gaulle, the new President of France, refused to place any single missile. This decision forced the United States to explore options for deploying missiles in Turkey or in Italy. At the same time, the US Air Force was deploying four squadrons of Thor missiles (60 missiles) in the United Kingdom near Nottingham. In April 1959, the Minister of Aviation entrusted the Air Force with the deployment of two squadrons of Jupiter missiles in Italy. From 1961 to 1963, a total of 30 missiles were deployed at ten sites in Italy. They were served by members of the Italian Air Force, but the Americans controlled nuclear warheads. These missiles deployed in Italy were placed at Gioia Del Colle Air Bases under the control of 36ª Aerobrigata Interdizione Strategica (the 36th Strategic Air Squadron of the Italian Air Force). In 1962, a Bulgarian MiG-17 spy plane crashed in a nearby olive grove after flying over one of these places.

In four cases between mid-October 1961 and August 1962, Jupiter missiles deployed in Italy and equipped with 1.4 megatons of TNT (5.9 PJ) nuclear warheads were struck by lightning. Thus, thermal batteries were activated, and in two cases the trithio-deuterium gas was pumped into the head, making them partially charged. After these 4 false alarms, the U.S. Air Force installed lightning protection on all launchers.

In October 1959 an intergovernmental agreement between the US and Turkey on the deployment of the third and last squadron in Turkey was signed. However, President Eisenhower delayed the deployment of missiles, believing that the move would inevitably provoke a sharp intensification of Soviet-American relations. After all, due to the long (several-hour) preparation time for launch, the missiles were practically applicable only in the case of a surprising first strike by the United States.[1]

Only in the spring of 1961, the new President Kennedy decided to install missiles in Turkey.[1] Between 1961 and 1963, 15 missiles were deployed at 5 locations near the city of Izmir. These posts were under the direct management of US Air Force personnel. The missiles have been on operational alert since March 1962. The first squadron of three Jupiters was introduced under the administration of the Turkish Air Force only at the end of October 1962 before the beginning of the Cuban Crisisy. However, the Americans still controlled nuclear warheads. The actual deployment of Jupiter missiles in Turkey is secret. According to an unnamed source from the 1961 deployment period, one of the five cities was in the mountains near Manisa and another in the mountains near Akhisar. The main base for the deployment of missiles was the Cigli Air Base.

All Jupiter missiles were removed only in April 1963, on the basis of a secret part of the agreement with the Soviet Union to remove Soviet missiles from Cuba. Officially, the removal of missiles after a year of service was justified by their obsolescence.

The real reason for the missile withdrawal was admitted to the American only at the end of the 80th summer of the 20th century.[2]

List of cities in Slovakia and the Czech Republic that the U.S. planned to bomb with nuclear weapons

On 4.4.2016, a declassified full (?) list of cities that the US planned to bomb with nuclear weapons was published.

The list was prepared around 1956-1959 for a future preventive nuclear war, where the United States will unexpectedly invade the Soviet Union and its satellites.

To begin with from the list: a sample of the bombing targets in Bratislava and an interpretation of some of the numbers in the list:

  • The number 157 is the order of importance of the target to bomb (from about 1200, or up to 3600 targets?).

  • Moscow has the number 1, Leningrad 2, etc...

  • The number 157 thus means that levelling Bratislava with the ground had a rather high priority for the UNITED STATES (although I could not find out why?).

  • The number 4809-01709 means the coordinates (GPS) of the target; 4809 = 48⁰09 '00' N; 1709 = 17⁰07 ́00 ́E (Bratislava).

  • When you put the coordinates of the targets in Google Map, you will find out where the atomic bomb was supposed to fall, but the bombs fell. The other numbers for each goal are codes – who should do it and how...

  • As can be seen from the list, the vast majority of targets in Slovakia were doubled to be sure, i.e. two atomic bombs per target.

24 atomic bombs were to be dropped on Bratislava, each with a force of about 50-100 times more effective (?) than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in September 1945. Needless to say, dropping 24 atomic bombs on Bratislava would erase it and its inhabitants from the face of the earth.

For some targets in the Soviet Union, hydrogen bombs with a force of up to about 4000 times the hiroshima bomb were envisaged.

For comparison, it was planned to drop 69 atomic bombs in Prague.

The US did not have to save on nuclear weapons because it had more than 12000 in 1959 and 22229 in 1961, i.e. 2 years later. Later, their number, also on the basis of agreements resulting from the increasing military power of the Warsaw Pact, decreased significantly. https://www.osti.gov/opennet/forms.jsp?formurl=document/press/pc26.html#ZZ7

If I was not mistaken in the calculation, then the UNITED STATES planned to drop 171 atomic bombs from aircraft (and missiles) for Slovakia.

Since the list does not state the reasons for the bombing of individual targets, I, in my expert judgement, will give at least a few reasons for the bombing of some important targets in Slovakia

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Dobšina. Generals in the UNITED STATES were rightly afraid that our army would be hidden in the Dobšinska Ice Cave and attack the United States at the signal.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Ladce. Generals in the US were rightly afraid that our army would dust the US with cement at night, and when it rained, the entire military machinery (except aircraft carriers) would solidify in concrete.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Humenné, because the generals in the USA do not like Švejk's military philosophy.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Krompachy, because generals in the USA do not like it when people do not obey at the command.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Malacky, because to generals in the USA, the zahoráky jokes did not seem funny.

  • They planned to drop four atomic bombs on Nitra, because the generals in the USA somehow heard about the militarily skilled Svätopluk, and therefore immediately doubled the number of atomic bombs to four.

  • They also doubled the number of atomic bombs on Poprad. Generals in the USA have heard that American soldiers can also like the Tatras training a bear.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Dolné Bzince, because generals in the USA always had a hard time finding them even on a map-special.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Koterbachy because no one could meaningfully translate their name into English for the generals in the United States.

  • They planned to drop two atomic bombs on Trstená, because in the tavern no one ever knew anything about America's winning military strategy.

The main target of the bombing

The main target of the bombing

The U.S. planned to drop 171 atomic bombs from planes (and missiles) on all major cities, some towns and even villages in Slovakia. The military strategic potential of these cities, perhaps with a few exceptions, was and is negligible. Therefore, the main goal of the bombing was to kill as many (or almost all) of the population in Slovakia as possible.

If we study the list of objectives in other states, they had a similar goal in all the Eastern European countries of the former socialist bloc, especially the Soviet Union. It was a planned genocide of Eastern Europeans as far as Vladivostok, killing as many inhabitants as possible (something similar to the genocide of ~20 million North American Indians).

When I compare it with Hitler's doctrine, where we were considered an inferior race that has no right to own the territory of life, culture and its own philosophy of life, then the American generals went even further, somehow judging that in this world we were just getting in the way of them (which is also true today).

U.S. plans to start a preventive nuclear war against the Soviet Union are described, for example, in the book: Vladimir Mohyla and the Collective: Operational-Tactical Missiles of the ČSLA in the Cold War period. (Vlado-Vlas, 2013, ISBN: 978-80-263-0501-9). At least a few notes from the book:

The first plan for an aggressive offensive war of the "West" against the Soviet Union and its satellites began to be born back in 1945 by the English humanist and democrat Winston Churchill called "Operation Unthinkable, Russia....", which was declassified in 1988. The plan did not come to fruition because the US did not want to support the plans of another former colonial power. This was followed by the plan of the offensive nuclear war of the USA "Totalitarianism" of 1949, where cities in the Soviet Union to be destroyed by nuclear bombs had already been determined. The plan was declassified in 1977. Other plans to start an offensive preventive nuclear war with the Soviet Union followed, such as Pincher, Broiler, Halfmoon, Fleetwood, Crankshaft, Offtackle and SIOP by 2003 (number of targets 16000(?)) and OPLAN since 2003 (number of targets 12500(?)) ...

Why did the US plans for the bombing-genocide of the socialist bloc in preventive nuclear war not come to fruition?

After II. During World War II in 1945, socialist Eastern European countries, but mainly the Soviet Union with a destroyed economy and infrastructure, were incomparably in a more disadvantageous economic position to the economically prosperous USA, which owned 61% of the world's gold reserves and produced about 50% of the world's industrial production. Furthermore, the U.S. acquired most of the scientists from Germany for the military machine.

Therefore, the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, in military competition with the UNITED STATES and NATO, always pulled for the shorter end. But the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, through enormous efforts, managed to create a situation in which the United States and its friends in NATO were not sure whether they would destroy a sufficient number of soviet and Warsaw Pact nuclear weapons and carriers with a preventive nuclear strike. The Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact have successfully camouflaged many times that they are militarily stronger than they really were. The declassified documents show that the US estimates of the effect of its nuclear weapons on the adversary and the Soviet Union's nuclear response were burdened with a major error. Therefore, the UNITED STATES did not want to risk the tragic end of its own empire.

Perhaps subconsciously they were haunted by the facts of the tragic end of the world's largest sovereign army of the 19th century, which, headed by Napoleon, invaded Russia on 24.6.1812.

Perhaps in their subconscious, they were also haunted by the facts about the tragic end of the world's largest sovereign army of the 20th century, which, headed by Hitler, invaded Russia on 22.6.1941.
